Austria's Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg has reaffirmed his stance against serving in a government led by FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl.
Schallenberg, who has held the position since 2019, stated he would not continue as foreign minister under a coalition between the FPÖ and ÖVP.
This decision aligns with his earlier remarks in 2023, where he expressed strong opposition to a Kickl-led administration.
Despite recent coalition talks between the FPÖ and ÖVP, Schallenberg's participation in negotiations appears unlikely.
Kickl, however, remains optimistic about potential collaboration between the two parties, citing programmatic similarities.
