A collision occurred on Friday in Lienz between a police car and an ambulance, resulting in injuries to two police officers.

The incident happened around 1:28 PM on the Felbertauernstraße (B108) while the police were responding to a serious traffic accident in Ainet.

The 22-year-old ambulance driver reportedly failed to yield at a traffic sign, leading to the crash.

Despite attempts by the 59-year-old police driver to brake and steer away, the vehicles collided.

Both police officers sustained unspecified injuries, while the ambulance driver and a paramedic were unharmed.

Fortunately, no other individuals were involved in the accident, but significant damage was reported to both emergency vehicles.

Alcohol tests for both drivers returned negative results.
