A tragic paragliding accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old man on Sunday afternoon at the Hafelekar, north of Innsbruck.

The incident occurred when the man attempted a daring maneuver, a double roll, shortly after takeoff.

Unfortunately, he lost significant altitude and crashed into a steep ravine with great force.

Despite the immediate response from three witnesses who rushed to provide first aid, and the efforts of an emergency helicopter crew, the man succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene.

The accident highlights the inherent risks of performing complex aerial stunts, even for experienced paragliders.
