Austrian IS terrorist Lorenz K.
, 25, has been sentenced to 16 years and nine months in prison for attempting to incite a fellow inmate to commit a terrorist attack.
This marks his second conviction, following a previous nine-year sentence for trying to recruit a 13-year-old boy to carry out a bombing at a Christmas market in Germany.
Despite being incarcerated, K.
continued to communicate with radical Islamists using smuggled mobile phones, promoting extremist ideologies through social media.
The court found him guilty of attempted murder and membership in a terrorist organization.
The prosecution emphasized the ongoing threat he poses, while K.
's defense argued that the evidence was insufficient.
The verdict is not yet final, as K.
plans to appeal.
