Austria's Inflation Rises Slightly in November

Published: 2024-11-29

In November, Austria experienced a slight increase in inflation, with prices rising by 1.9% compared to the same month last year.

This marks a 0.3% rise from October's inflation rate of 1.8%.

The primary driver of this inflation was the services sector, which saw a 4.4% increase in prices over the year.

Additionally, food, tobacco, and alcohol prices rose by 2.5%, surpassing the general inflation rate.

Despite these increases, energy prices fell by 9.8% year-on-year, helping to moderate the overall inflation rate.

Austria's inflation remains below the European Central Bank's stability target of 2%, with a harmonized rate of 2.0% for November.
