Austria faced severe flooding in mid-September, causing significant damage to both private properties and businesses.
Initial estimates by the Supply Chain Intelligence Institute Austria and other economic bodies place the total damage at 1.3 billion euros.
The floods affected nearly 700 companies, with the hardest-hit areas being Tulln, St.
Pölten, and Melk.
Despite the devastation, investments in flood protection helped mitigate further losses.
Businesses are eligible for compensation from disaster funds, covering up to 80% of damages in severe cases.
Additionally, the local government has allocated 5.5 million euros for new emergency equipment, highlighting the importance of preparedness and community support in recovery efforts.
