Richard Lugner, the renowned Austrian builder and socialite, has passed away at the age of 91. Known for his flamboyant lifestyle and high-profile appearances at the Vienna Opera Ball, Lugner was a prominent figure in Austrian society.

Despite recent health challenges, including a heart operation, he remained active until his final days.

Lugner was famous for bringing Hollywood stars to the Opera Ball and for his unconventional marketing strategies at his shopping center, Lugner City.

He was married six times, with his latest marriage to Simone occurring just this June.

Lugner had already made arrangements for his passing, including ordering his gravestone, and will be laid to rest at the Grinzinger Cemetery.

His death marks the end of an era for a man who was as much a part of the social scene as the events he attended.
