Austria is grappling with a significant rise in flu cases, with over 9,200 people affected last week, up from 6,873 the week before.
The number of those suffering from flu-like infections has also surged, reaching 108,830. Despite the increasing numbers, experts say the peak of the flu season is not yet in sight.
The circulating flu strains match those in the current vaccine, making vaccination highly effective.
Health officials urge people to take advantage of the free flu vaccine and adopt preventive measures like handwashing and ventilation.
Strengthening the immune system through healthy habits is also recommended.
