Austria is gearing up for a rare white Christmas, with snow expected in several regions.

Meteorologists predict heavy snowfall in the western and northern parts of the country, particularly in Bregenz, Innsbruck, and Salzburg.

These areas are likely to see snow on December 24, while the eastern and southern regions, including Vienna, Graz, and Klagenfurt, are expected to remain snow-free.

The Geosphere Austria forecast highlights significant snowfall in the Nordstaulagen, with lighter snow showers in the eastern Alpine regions.

However, the southern areas will likely stay dry.

A snow warning has been issued for western Tyrol, where snowfall is expected to continue into Christmas Day.

After the festivities, sunny and dry weather is anticipated from December 26 onward.
